Me and parents went to Kolkata April,2012. Actually my grandfather used to talk about so many places in Kolkata. He used to live there during second war and  finished his masters from Kolkata University. We went almost every places where he used live, read or hangout with his dear friends, specially a particular coffee place named 'Coffee House'. The place is really old and I think they never even renovated this place. This coffee shop is almost a historic place. Don't miss that place if you ever go to Kolkata.
