Nakshi Katha(nakshi design) : Handmade by Bangladeshi

Friends today I'll share my most favorite handmade designs and motivs from Bangladesh. It is already a patented Bangladeshi design and print.I do have few nakshi katha designed dresses,bags,sarees and wall hangings too which I captured for you. Nakshi Katha is a famous traditional handicraft in Bangladesh. It is a colorful design and pattern embroidered on a  basic colored piece of cloth. Typically Nakshi designed quilts are everyones favorite. Traditional saree and other dresses are also made with nakshi design.I always love nakshi designed wall hangings and bags.

The typical process of making nakshi katha is more than awesome. Katha making is not a full time job. Usually girls from village makes this particular types of embroidered pieces . After finishing their household work, all of them  set together and start sewing. During the process the cloth is kept on the ground. Originally designs and motivs are not drawn on the cloth.But now Nakshi katha makers use tracing papers and wooden blocks and so many other things for their developed work.
